Disney World has changed a LOT in recent years.
Aim for the pandemic and all the reopening, or the advancement of technology and new additions in the form of attractions and terrain, but if you haven’t been in a couple of years, you may not even recognize some of the parks. ! But not all changes are bad, so what are some of the changes that Disney fans really like? We have asked our readers to find out.
Many of our readers shared that they really enjoyed the addition of Mobile Order to the theme parks. In the past, our readers have shared that they like the convenience of being able to walk to the restaurant and pick up the food already ordered … without having to queue long. Plus, you can schedule your order in advance for any time of the day!
Disney Genie +
We had a shocking number of Facebook followers sharing that they really like the addition of Genie + to the parks. The launch of this new paid replacement for FastPass has been a bit controversial, but now you are not required to book your trips two months before your trip. You have a little more flexibility and it doesn’t seem to affect park waiting times as much as its predecessor.
Selections of individual attractions
And even among those who didn’t like Genie +, some noted that they liked the idea of individual attraction selections. These attractions are more popular than others, and if you don’t want to pay $ 15 per person to do Genie + all day, you can pay a (probably lower) fare to use Lightning Lane just for a must-see trip. However. It will probably save you a lot of time.
Many of our readers noted that they loved adding cavalcades when the parks reopened. Nowadays, you spend less time waiting for a parade and you can be pleasantly surprised by your favorite characters who go on a whim. They are fast, efficient and fun for all ages … what don’t you like ?! Also, it’s nice to have them as an option in parks that previously didn’t have parades.
Another amazing answer? Park reservations! Several people responded that they liked that Disney Park Pass reservations allowed them to avoid some of the congestion and keep the parks at a lower capacity. They value the planning aspect and know that they will not be denied entry if it is a busy day. However, they pointed out that there is a downside: it takes a bit of spontaneity out of your trip to Disney.
For the most part, the Disney Skyliner has been a welcome change at Disney World (the few “accidents” aside). Several of our readers responded to this, sharing that they like the ease of transportation. Skyliner has also added some additional benefits to staying in certain resorts, especially those that were not highly valued before, such as Pop Century and Caribbean Beach.
Although he is now gone, many of our fans expressed their gratitude for the social distancing in the parks. We are willing to bet that most people enjoyed the benefits of personal space, without strangers breathing down your neck while queuing. (Our readers said so!)
Another change brought about by COVID is the addition of more random characters to the parks. Now, you’ll see many of your favorite Disney friends from afar (at least the ones who haven’t returned to meet and greet places) and get a chance to interact with them without having to queue. Our readers really liked this change, given that it increases the flexibility of your day’s schedule.
On the other hand…
But we must also address the opposite of this question. Recently, many guests have been upset with Disney World because of the changes, such as new technology, the loss of certain benefits, and price increases. And when we shared our question on Facebook, a significant group of our readers said there were no recent changes that they liked in the parks.
Sometimes the changes require a bit of habituation, so we’ll see how opinions change in the future, but it’s possible that a group of fans will remain unhappy with the changes Disney World has made recently. Surely there have been MANY changes!
No matter how opinions change, we will continue to share the thoughts of our readers. Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney World news and updates from theme parks and online – we’ve got you covered!
