We’ve spent a lot of time there this past week Magic Kingdom!
This week there was all sorts of new stuff in Disney World’s OG park, including new food, new products, and more. So let’s dive in and see the full list of new stuff you missed at the parks this week!
Aunt Gravity’s galactic gifts
Let’s start with a food update! At Auntie Gravity’s, Uncle Orville Sundae has been removed from the menu … once again. This adorable sundae was first launched on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and came in a beautiful bathtub-shaped bowl.
However, since its launch, its status on the menu has come and gone, and Supply problems have often led to a lack of a bathtub. Hopefully, come back soon!
At Gaston’s Tavern, we saw turkey tails on the menu! You’ll usually find them at Prince Eric’s Village Market, opposite Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, but this location was closed when we visited.
So, if you fancy a turkey thigh and the trusted snack board is closed, be sure to check out Gaston’s; you may be pleasantly surprised by what you find! (And there are other delicious treats here as well.)
On January 10, Disney World released hundreds of new price increases for snacks and food throughout the property.. The prices of many popular items increased from a few cents to a few dollars, which means you’ll have to budget more for food during your next visit.
We’ve seen this change in several snack bars, and that’s it affected some of the fan favorites, such as Dole Whip, Mickey Bars, Bottled Soft Drinks and more.

New 50th anniversary snacks
Magic Kingdom also released new 50th anniversary snacks on January 10th. (It was a great day for food!) We had new choices of sweets, new savory products and everything in between … and we tried EVERYTHING. Specifically, we grabbed the new fish sandwich …
… The updated version of a MASSIF 50th anniversary helmet …
… a Donald themed treat …
… a new DOLE Whip float …
… And more!
Be sure to check out our list of new delicacies available and be sure to check out our reviews of all the 50th anniversary snacks already available!
And if you feel like going there Cheshire Coffee for a cattail or coffee, you may want to rethink your plans. The snack stop near Mad Tea Party has been closed and lit for the past few days.
This place usually has a seasonal opening hours, which means that it is sometimes closed when the parks are not so busy. We will be watching to see if anything changes with the menu.

We are not yet so patiently waiting for the opening of the roller coaster from Tron to Magic Kingdom, and we have been watching the evolution of construction for a long time. Things are still moving forward, but the opening date has not yet been announced.
We’ll keep an eye out here to see if there are any major updates over the next few months. We can’t wait to ride this one!
And this week, Jungle Cruise has returned to its former non-festive glory. We’ll have to wait until next year to re-sail the Jingle Cruise, with all these holly word games! Too, the hut at the exit of the promenade has been remodeled as a ticket office.
If you haven’t been here for a long time, be sure to check it out on your next visit! Last summer, new scenes and animatronics were added to give the trip a more cohesive story.
Also on January 10 (we said it was a great day, everyone), Disney World closed Splash Mountain for a month-long renovation. During this time, the trip will only receive routine maintenance.
This often happens in the winter months for water walks, so it’s nothing really extraordinary. In fact, Kali River Rapids went through the same schedule late last year.
Check out the current travel renovations here!
